Hi,

I would like to know if anyone experienced Qantas service on long haul routes. I am planning to fly the airline from Buenos Aires to Sydney. How is the overall service, the space between seats -the same as in BA or a little more space?. For having such long flights does Qantas offer anything different?

Really appreciate any comment.

Sebastian

Qantas is good compared to BA, and UA but no where as near as good as Singapore or Cathay or Virgin.

Service is OK.... Meals are also OK....

Little more space than in BA - about 1-2 inches

Overall its enjoyable.... but i dont usually fly them. (its a very personal choice anyway)... depends on what youre after/ or have been on before?

On the EZE-AKL-SYD route QF operates B747-400 a/c usually configured 14P/79J/265Y. Economy seating is comfortable for an averaged sized person. I'm 5'8" (172cm) and have plenty of leg room in Y/C, ie if I were in the aisle seat I wouldn't have to necessarily vacate my seat to let the centre or window seat pax out as there is space.
Scheduled departure is currently in the wee small hours of the morning so there won't be a bar service after take off, though drinks are always available on request. The idea is to get a meal to all pax as quickly as possible, clear away afterwards and then let everyone sleep. En route to AKL a second main meal and smaller refreshment will be served not necessarily in that order. Ex-AKL you'll find breakfast served on the flight 'across the pond'.
Crew provide socks and eye shades for Y/C pax and of course J/C and P/C receive their amenity kits.
I sincerely hope you'll enjoy your flight with QF to Australia. Cheers!

I'm also scheduled to fly Qantas, this Saturday, from LAX-SYD, then on some Qantas domestic flights. I'll let you know how they were when I get back.
