Frontier has its own ramp in LA? Last I noticed it was ATS? Maybe I should pay more attention.

Just flew the inaugural to SFO -- they use International terminal Concourse A, and Swissport handles the ground. No celebration though ... disappointed... and we use gate A10 next to JL 744 and NW 332... their check in is next to KE...

Twice weekly to SFO too...

Assuming everything runs on-time, Independence will use our (Frontier's) gate A3 up here in Seattle. However, their scheduled arrival is exactly our scheduled departure time for F9 flight 848 to Denver, so things could get a little hairy if DH is early and F9 is late. Tonight, however, things went fairly smoothly. DH67 was almost an hour late arriving in Seattle but DH68 left 2 minutes early (ok, so its a scheduled 2 hour turn).

We had a few give aways at the gate, but other than that I can't think of anything special for the first DH flight to/from SEA. It was dark when the plane arrived so a water salute would have been meaningless. The DH A319 that came in, N807BR, was still all nice and shiny, kinda like our newest planes, although N938FR looks a bit trashed inside already. I got to check in the first DH pax from Seattle, so that was kinda cool, but other than that it was fairly normal.

Hello from LAX,

First flight left about 1 hrs late since plane came in late from Boston. I tought a acft swap would be done... DH 60 left about 12:30am acft 803 very nice, very similar to Frontier, the only main differences was the bright blue leather seats and the engines I belive were p&w same as America West.. we left with 78 pax on board. No special celebration or give aways also no water salute since it was dark anyway. .. lets see how tomorrow goes. As far as Indy and F9 we are handling the in SAN, LAX SEA and SJO... so. lets see. but I can tell right now our cultures are very different..

Swissport does RAMP and CSA for DH in LAS

jetblue had problems with DH so they never got the contract due to some long story

The east to west flight is a reasonably convenient time but the west to east flight is an overnight. They are going to have to be priced below JetBlue to keep that flight filled, which will keep the yield low. I wish them luck but it seems like there are just too many good alternatives to get from LA to IAD now.

Besides that I have yet to see any advertising for FLYi in LA. Zero name recognition in SoCal so far.

On the other hand, Song over the weekend had a sky writing plane flying around plus had several promotional events at local malls to advertise their new JFK-LAX service which started on Sunday.
