Sources tell me that USAir will announce service from PHL to FAY, ILM, OAJ and EWN to start on June 5th. I don't have any further info, but I'd assume it's all regional jets at best. It's great to see these airports get service beefed up. At this point I don't know if it's permanant or just seasonal...

Congratulations ERJ170!

When uploaded in late March, it was for 05Jun05 through 09Jul05.. the following week when the US schedule was uploaded, all flights went permanent. Also, EWN got 3 Sat CR7 flights to CLT... big upgrade for EWN..

Also look for AVL to get new service.. to PHL and DCA, I think.. I could be wrong about that..

A new bit of information that I recently read..

RDU has recently completion payment of the $75Mil loan for their primary runway (5/23) and are now looking at re-financing their current loans in order to completely rebuild Terminal C rather than just renovate half and rebuild the other half. So it could be the Terminal that they initially envisioned with about 45-50 gates instead of just 36. Pretty cool..

ERJ,
I thought that was always the plan, they are only doing one half at a time due to the needed gate requirements.

It was the plan.. the South Concourse was getting demolished and rebuilt.. the north concourse was only getting renovated..

Now, both Concourses are more than likely to get demolished and rebuilt..

The original plan was for the South Concourse to get 10-12 new gates for a total of 24-26 gates while the North Concourse was going to keep their 12 with 10-12 added later.. Now, the South Concourse will have 24-26 and the North Concourse will have 22-24.. potentially up to 50 gates instead of 36!

ERJ, I am sure you just made an innocent mistake in typing, but the north part of C is already gone.

Either way, ever since they abandoned the plan with doing A first, I was pretty sure they were going for the complete rebuild of C

Oh no.. I knew North C was gone. I was explaining the plan as it was..

Yeah, last time I was there, they were working and probably getting close to completing the foundation work.. I think.. I don't know.. since I moved to DC..I don't get to check out the airport much..
