I just watched Indy flight 55 arrive from IAD. Behind a JL 747 you could see them getting a cannon salute. Indy has been here for 3 days now, so just found it funny they just did it!  Smile

They were trying to make sure Indy would last more than 2 days. Impressive!

Maybe the CEO was onboard this flight so they decided it was more appropriate to do it then.

Who knows...

wrong directions for a retiring pilot...they would do that on the last leg of a trip which would be a return to IAD

JFK, think you make a point!

Yeah, but have you ever met a pilot that wouldn't rather retire to the West Coast, over the East Coast if the choice was given? lol

I would rather retire to the West Coast, much less crowded than
that geriatric ridden, hurricane target, tourist overidden, peninsula
called Florida!

Right between gate A-12 and the blast fence on its way to gate A-10. Our rampers working our Puerta Vallarta got some great pics w/ thier camera phones.

Oh No... they did not wait for me... I am upset...

Anyway, I am glad that they got the salute. it is indeed a brave act to fly into SFO -- head to head competition with United between two of UA major hubs.

off topic, but saw a news article that stated that the population of Florida will be 100 million in 45 years, IF the growth rate continues at the same pace it has for the last several decades. That's a lot of ruined trailer parks in the next Category 5 hurricane... Wink

All the more reason NOT to get anywhere near the place. My parents were in Orlando about a month ago, and the traffic was a nightmare anywhere they went.
