Yes, today (5/3) was an EXCELLENT day for spotting @ FLL due to the severe WX in the vicinity of MIA. Spotted:

It was bad in FLL today they had two groundstops I didn't see any of the exotic birds that were mentioned but I know US diverted one or two flights into PBI

Well earlier in the day around 1:00 PM EDT there was a tornado warning and severe thunderstorm warning for the Weston area (about 10 miles due west of FLL). This storm cluster slowly migrated south while growing to the east, right toward the vicinity of MIA (Basically an airmass thunderstorm-turned severe thunderstorm that wandered astray). The immediate FLL area remained relatively clear of strong storms, while the nasty stuff was to the west and south.

I don't normally quote myself, but another thread posted that there were two AA 777's there, making the total 777 count to three at one time!

Speaking of FLL, did anyone go to the Air and Sea show? I went on Sunday and the most amazing display of all was that of the 777.. people were like wow! look at that! .. amazing! I have seen AA 777s so many times at MIA that I pretty much ignore them; however it looked so impressive on the show I almost got goosebumps seeing this beauty climb away into a turn at full power!

I got the opportunity to watch some of the planes take off from OPF, the F-15s were showing off using the afterburner on takeoff  Smile Also saw that Mid East Jet 777 from I-95, my first sighting of a VIP 777.

Has anyone seen the Algerian AF IL-76 this year?
