Why are there so few Star Alliance carriers serving Ireland? DUB had BD, LH and SAS, plus seasonal AC and US while SNN only has the seasonal AC and US services. Is it likely any of the other carriers will open routes into Ireland? Now that SA)">AA operates into DUB and SNN, will SA)">UA start services, maybe to IAH? Or SA to JNB or CPT? Or even SQ or TG?

Next Flights: EI DUB-LHR A320, BA LHR-SFO B744, UA SFO-LAS A320, BA LAS-LHR B744, EI LHR-DUB A320

An SQ 747 flys into DUB on regular flights but it is unlikely that they will start passenger sevices, but then again maybe just maybe they might.
UA would do great in Ireland give me something else to look at in DUB. Plus with the new EI routes across the Atlantic getting closer it would be good competion even though I dont know the new EI routes.

I think you mean IAD (IAH is CO's hub), and it is a possibility that UA will start DUB flights. They said they were opening 10 new international cities that had never been served before...anyone know if DUB and UA were ever involved?

DUB hasn't even been whispered about other than freighter service. To be honest, I don't think the demand is really there. Although, every freighter I have operated in and out of DUB is usually full.

DUB scheduled star services are quite intensive actually - the first post missed out some significant presence.

SK Twice daily to CPH, daily to ARN (MD87/MD90)
LO Twice daily to Warsaw (ERJ170)
BD x8 daily to Heathrow (A321)
US Daily to PHL (summer only - 762)
AC Daily to YYZ (Summer only -763)
JKK Twice weekly to AGP (A321)
LH x4 daily to FRA (32S / 737)
OS x3 weekly to VIE (734 / 321)

The world is really getting smaller these days

Oh sorry, totally forgot about LO and OS. But I still dont think that 100 flights a week (and an extra 14 during the summer) is particularly "intensive" given an alliance over so many airlines. Even forgetting EI completely, OneWorld operate nearly that many nad have a far smaller alliance and Skyteam by my rough calculation operate more than Star - CO, AF, DL, Alitalia, CSA Czech etc.

PS Yes I meant IAD, not IAH, oops!

You can also add SK (BU) 5 x weekly to OSL.
