A little less than an hour ago, I had a chance to see a Saudi 747-200 come in for landing at JFK. I didn't know that Saudi was still flying this type and would have expected to see one of their 744's or even a 772ER. Was this 742 a Saudi VIP aircraft or was it being used in regular service?

Actually, it wasn't a Cargo 742, unless Saudi has a few that do not have the word Cargo painted on the side like the one shown in the photos above. As it flew over, I was specifically looking for signs that it was a cargo model, but i saw nothing to lead me to believe that it was. Plus, unless Saudi has some converted Freighters or unless they have 747-200C models, this aircraft had windows and doors on the side as well. I have seen the MD-11 a few times in the past, but this was the first time that i saw the 742 without any Cargo titles on it. Maybe it was a VIP aircraft. Were there any Saudi nationals coming to the US today?
