Thanks

Both airports are about 27 miles apart, so it is not necessary.

Alex.

Well, UAL flys Orange County (SNA)-LAX flights (about 30 miles), so the distance in itself is probably not the problem. BA could also make LHR and LGW a "Mega-hub" with feeder flights connecting the two individual airports. Of course, the landing fees at LHR are probably enormous, and there are no slots available anyways.

LHR and LGW are overcrowded enough as it is without flights between them

There is a Flightlink bus that is free to connecting passengers. Now LGW has many more flights - there aren't that many flights that need an LHR/LGW connection.

British Caledonian used to run a helicopter between LHR and LGW for connections, this was ended when the M25 opened and journey times by road were decreased (plus they were expensive)

Just kidding

Auckland-SFO could be fun though, with the view over the bay...

Houston Hobby(HOU) And Bush Intercontinental(IAH) are 27 miles apart and they have scheduled air service between the two airports. Not only turboprops but also a 737-300. Ellington Field(EFD), another airport in Houston also has scheduled air service with IAH.

They might not do revenue flights, but it wouldn't surprise me if you saw some ferry flights. This would be required for aircraft placement or replacement for mechanicals.

I was wondering if there are any positioning flights? The flight time must be around 5 minutes?

Thanks

They would be more then 5 minutes with slot times and everything it would probably be over an your hobbs time probably about 30 minutes in the air and 30 minutes on the ground it could take longer then that also.
