What Are These 2 Ex-MXA 757s Doing In Abbotsford?

Hi, I took this picture about 2 weeks ago but I was told by a friend that the planes are still parked there. I asked an Abbotsford ATC but he didn't know either. Any ideas? The planes are owned by ILFC. And btw, there was also an Alaska 737 (showed in the pic) and a Dash 8 (with no paint all only a kind of primer) parked at CYXX.
The regs of the 757s are N764MX and N755MX

Both aircraft where retired from MX fleet, i think returned to lessor because of the high lease cost of both aircraft, soon N101LF will join them (if it didn´t do it last week)

Thanks N405MX, it would be interesting also to know why they were parked in Abbotsford and not in the US...? Maybe ILFC is going to prepare them (paint) for a new customer?

Saludos

Given that the aircraft appear to be parked in front of Cascade Aerospace's hanger, I'd venture to say that they're going to have work performed (maybe even paint) before they go to new operators...

Cascade does work for lots of folks...

Perhaps Cascade was doing maintenance on them?

Thanks, so now I know why they had also some other planes with no scheduled flts to YXX. I'll try to fly to YXX this week to take some pictures with a better camera.

Cheers,

Carlos

If you look into OPNLguy's link a bit more in depth, you'll find this article...

It could very well be that those 2 757's are on their way to Harmony.

I sent an e-mail to Cascade Aerospace. Hopefully I'll get a response about the future of the 2 planes.

Cheers,

Carlos

They will go to FISHER AIR POLSKA, division of Czech airline Fisher Air, and their homebase will be Warsaw, Poland.

Quoting CanadaEH (Reply 4):

Actually MX did maintenance on those planes before return them, N764MX just went out of "C" Check, maybe only paint will be done.

Saludos

I received a response from Cascade Aerospace. They said the 2 planes are part of 3 that will recieve some minor interior modifications between June and September for a new startup airline called Atlantic Express. The 3rd airplane is supposed to arrive next week.

Btw, I was looking for some info about Atlantic Express and found the following on USA Today:
Atlantic Express is aiming to offer low-fare international service, initially from New York's John F. Kennedy airport to Europe. It's led by David Spurlock, who was British Airways' No. 3 executive

So anybody knows which other 757 was recently retired from MXA?

Cheers,

Carlos

Charly:
The other MX´s 757 retired is N101LF also N758MX fully white in MEX, maybe will be N758MX, but N101LF made a flight last week after service to be returned to lessor.

Cheers

I can't believe they are giving up their 757s. I understand their leases are expensive, but I can't think of a better airplane for MEX's high altitude than the good old 757.

I know what you mean Juventus, the 757 is a great performer. I remember being at Guadalajara (5000ft ASL) looking at those 757s taking off like rockets even with temps well over 30°C (86F)...Anyway I'll be looking forward to take some pictures of the next 757 arriving to YXX.
