maybe IC was always treated as step-child, so never worthy of giving a name? Moreover, they always had more planes than AI, so rather difficult to think of that many?

Maybe they didnt want flight disruptions due to crazy politicans who are waiting for a cause.

Remember AI had an issue with one of the 747 400s. Dont remeber which one?

There was sth with VT-EPX tb named Aurangzeb, which was finally named Narasimha Varman, after the fascists from the Shiv Sena protested.. and there was sth with an ex-SQ 310, which came on dry-lease to be named after a holi Indian river (Ganga??) - Shiv saw an insult to name a foreign-owned 2nd hand a/c accordingly.. Seans Article on airwhiners.net has everything inb detail, and I am sure he will be able to omit my mistakes here

I have to agree with the Shiv Sena in this instance.

Aurangzeb was an Islamo-fascist of his time who revoked the secular advances created by Akbar. Shah Jehan and Jehangir weren't much better, but at least Shah Jehan created the Taj Mahal.

Frankly, the idiot who decided to call the 743 Aurangzeb should have been fired.

There are lots of other Indian kings and queens to choose from - Prithviraj Chauhan, Chand Bibi, Razia Sultan, the Rani of Jhansi, Tipu Sultan, etc.

Since AI is already good at selecting its own names, that is why i think IC should take our names for reference.

I just realised that the brand new 777-300er 200lr will be named after Raags---are there 25 odd raags worthy of naming an aircraft after
