I recently heard from my Chinese teacher that we will be flying over the north pole to get to China on the new direct Shanghai-Detroit route and maybe the Detroit-Beijing route. Is this true? Boy, I hope there is an ATC thing up there? And also, will the Shanghai flight be on a brand new aircraft since this is a new Northwest route?
