Hi there !

I really do not understand what is going on ( or not going on ! ) with this KL 737-406.
Last november this aircraft landed without the front landing gear ( I think ). It seems it got serious damage. My question is : is it normal that an aircraft stays for more than 6 months in a foreign airport without being repaired or something ?

Maybe it has been found unrepairible. The only thing that suprises me is that they have not covered up the markings. They may truck that plane away soon who knows. scratchchin

Airplanes are only as good as the people who fly&fix them.

At least on www.planemad.net it's listed as "written off"...

It had a birdstrike which resulted in it skidding off the runway in Barcelona.

Even if the markings are painted over the livery is distinctive enought to give away its (previous) owner. It's not AF or LH or something where getting rid of the titles and tail is enough to make it completley anonymous.

this plane has been replaced for the summer by an Transavia 737-800, wich is painted into the KL livery...

ah, so that's why HV has leased an outside 738 to take up the slack?

Any indication of when and if KLM will receive a permanent replacement airframe? Or are they going to cut into the route network instead and shift some more routes to AF sooner than expected?

Wait...why would Transavia give KLM a new 737 only for then Transavia to go get another one?

That makes all the sense in the world.

Well, I'm sure there are lots of people who wouldn't be able to tell you it's KL. Or
if the markings are off, people could think it's another airline with a former KL plane.

Try not to be jealous, we can't all be Czech.

The markings have been removed in early December, so within two weeks after the accident.

Which HV 738 is now flying for KL?

Probably cuz HV is more used to lease a/c for the busy periods and since KL owns HV it might make more sense to take that plane off them and lease another?
