1. When will american start 777 service to buenos aires (dont say whenever they get enough planes, i want exact dates) TO GET EXACT DATES GO TO THE AMERICAN WEBSITE LIKE I DID THEY SHOW 777 ON MIAMI-EZE STARTING JULY 3RD.

2. Why does the international airport in buenos aires have 2 names? (pistarini and ezieza) WHY I DON'T KNOW GOT ME THERE

3. When will the new terminal at eze be finished?
4. what airlines will use the new terminal?
5. will aerolineas stay at the same terminal that they are using today? 7. will ar's terminal in eze have enough gates for national and domestic or will there be a bus service to planes on the tarmac? 9. when the new terminal is done, what will happen to the old terminal? (refurbish or shut down?) CHECK OUT HTTP://WWW.AA2000.COM.AR BUT THAT'S UP IN THE AIR...MORE DRAMA

6. when will aeroparque jorge newbury close down and move its operations to eze? 8. Is eze going to be buenos aires' main airport or is there a new one on the way? (on the river?) AEP WON'T CLOSE ANYTIME SOON EZE WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO HANDLE ALL FLIGHTS. ON THE RIVER IDEA IS A PROPOSAL EXTENSION OF AEP.

10. if ar isnt making money, then how can they afford to keep flying?
11. i thought that ar was buying enough airbuses to replace the 747s. Now they only have 3 and no more are on the way? IBERIA/SEPI. NO MONEY FOR NEW AIRCRAFT MAYBE THE 800 MIL DEBT COULD HAVE SOMETHING TO DO WITH IT?

12. why does united have a flight from eze to uraguay (30 minute flight) using a 767 when there are lots of 737 flights from jorge newbury? 13. how can united make money on this flight? MAYBE THEY DON'T BUT PROBABLY MORE THAN IF THEY WOULD FLY NONSTOP TO MONTEVIDEO OTHERWISE THEY WOULDN'T.

14. Are there any direct flights to uraguay from the sates? (aa flys thru sao palo and united thru buenos aires) NONE THAT I KNOW OF

15. Does LAPA plan on adding more international flights? THEY WILL...SOME CHARTER FLIGHTS WILL BECOME REGULAR SERVICE

16. Why does ar have 2 A310s serving only one flight per day to chile? 17. why does ar have these A310's?
BECUASE THEY ONLY HAVE 2. PROVED TO BE GOOD ON FLIGHTS TO JFK MEXICO SO 747 COULD BE USED ELSWHERE

18. if ar won the lotery, would they replace their dc-9's and 737's with more 737's and 717's or would they go for an all airbus fleet? THIS ONE IS CUTE...LETS DAY DREAM HUH? ALL AIRBUS WOULD BE NICE BUT I'D LIKE TO SEE THE B717 IN ARGENTINA

19. Why do most international flights to buenos aires land in the morning and don't take off again till the night time? GOT ME THERE TOO

20. Whats the deal with Open Skies? i am confused 21. When will delta and continental start flying here?
22. where will they be flying from? 23. What aircraft do they plan on using?(767-400?!) CONFUSED ABOUT? OPEN SKIES IS ON HOLD FOR NOW ANYWAY...AGAIN DRAMA. DL AND CO IN BUENOS AIRES? MAYBE WHEN ALL THIS OPEN SKY IS RESOLVED. 767-400 WOULD BE NICE BUT MAYBE DL W/767-300ER FROM ATLANTA AND CO WITH 767-200ER? FROM HOUSTON.

24.Why is there no direct or 1 stop flight from buenos aires to japan?(the only way to go is, eze-scl-dfw-nrt or eze-gru-jfk-nrt) NOT TRUE AND I'VE DONE THIS TWICE BECAUSE FOR ME IT WAS MORE FUN PLUS I LIKE AIR NEW ZEALAND. BUENOS AIRES-AUCKLAND-TOKYO

WoW! I'm taking a break.
Hope I helped some

There are a few more direct ways from EZE to NRT than you mentioned. You can fly UA nonstop to NYC and then UA nonstop to NRT. This would mean only one stop. You could fly a similiar route thru ORD on UA or maybe via DFW on AA. Another option is to fly RG via GRU and then a direct flight with a stop in LAX to NRT. I guess there's not enough traffic from Argentina to Japan to warrant direct service. The777Man

Need a Boeing 777 Firing Order....Further to fly....CI, MU, LX and LH 777s

if there is the need for a flight from here to malaysia then why not a flight from here to japan? maybe only twice a week or something. whenever i fly from eze-scl-dfw. i ussually see 10 to 20 people(asian) waiting to board in eze, i then see those same people at dallas not going thru customs(in transit). the scl-dfw is the mosed used route (less flying hours). maybe that is why american has upgraded its 767 service to scl to MD-11 service.

Re:question #19 in refernce to arrival/departure times. Since South America and North America are relatively in the same time zones it doesn't suit to have morning departures to the USA that will arrive in the late evening hours when there won't be connections to other parts in the USA. The same reason goes to having AM departures from the USA to South America.

There is not enough demand for a Japan - Argentina route. Japanese and Argentinians love to travel, they just don't travel enough between both destinations. There is plenty of other ways to get from Japan to Argentina. I am not sure, but my guess would also be that there is not enough business trade between the two countries.

On the other hand, Brazil does a lot of business with Japan. This stimulates business travel. So quite a few people fly on first and business class. Brazil also has a large population of Japanese-Brazilians that also stimulate a lot of jet travel for business and tourist trade. However, even with all this you still can't afford to fly between both countries on a nonstop basis. Thats why Varig makes a stop in Los Angeles. This allows the plane to pick up more fuel and more revenue paying passengers. Trust me, its a long flight!

Well, Malaysian just flies to Buenos Aires but I hardly think that it is making to much money from that route.
Most of the traffic that Malaysian airlines generates in Argentina is mostly destined to South Africa.

Another reason there's no nonstop service from GRU to NRT is that the distance is 11506mi. That's too far to fly with the aircraft of today. Even the 777-200LR will not have the range to fly this nonstop nor will the A340-500. The777Man

2. Ezeiza is the name of the city where the airport was built. Ministro Pistarini is simply what the airport was named originally, but never stuck.
6. They will not close down Aeroparque for the simple reason that in a few years in the future, Ezeiza, even if expanded to it's maximum, would run out of room anyways. Then they would have the dilemma Mexico City has now, & they are to build a new airport. Since Bs.As. already has two airports, it would be far more costly to close down AEP now just to save a few bucks today & have to pay far more later.
8. It would be ridiculous to build a new airport in the river from scratch without taking advantage of AEP as it is today. Expansion of AEP is likely. Where the money will come, I don't know.
9. Again, it would be pathetic to just "shut-down" the old terminal. I hear that they will refurbish the old one, & then separate departures from arrivals.
10. How has AR flown for 50 years plus? Politics.
12, 13. Basically, to be PC. To not have a ""direct"" fligtht from Uruguay to the US would be not-PC, IMO, even if it doesn't make them money.
15. Airlines always talk about expanding, even if they do bad. LAPA, Dinar, they both said they want to increase Int'l flights.
19. ROTFL. Should they leave from EZE after lunch (1:30 or so), so they arrive in the US at 3:00 in the morning?? :-D From Miami, flights to Europe leave in the afternoon, mostly, so that they arrive early in the morning in Europe of the next day. Schedulers like for long international flights to arrive in the morning & leave at night.
20. There is no open skies for now. Good decision, IMHO, even though I do think flexibilization of routes short of total open competition is in order now.
24. I never saw many Japanese in ARG, more Koreans, yes. Brazil, Paraguay & Peru have much larger Japanese population, plus you can't comment on business between the two countries because it is non-existent, to be truthful. Add to that the distance, & the severe recession (almost depression) that Japan has been mired in since 1990, & the recession in Argentina last year, & it makes it hard to start a new route under those conditions.

Speaking of recessions, I must go back to watch how the US stock markets come crashing down & the US economy goes to hell, if this keeps going like it is.

Hopefully I have added something here. Auf Wierdersehen

Derico.

the buenos aires herald ran a huge article on this topic last friday(almost one page). ill try to scan it and put it up here but for the mean time i will just give you a short summary about it.

the project-would be raised on a 250 hectare island about 2 kilometers off the cost parrallel to the prt area. 2,800 metre funway capable for 747 flights. angled 15 degres differently from aeroparque to enable it to meet OACI norms and 99% operatability. oproaches over water so no obstacles, overflights of populated areas, and noise restriction(24 hour operating). it would still use the existing buildings at aeroparque(parking, passenger terminal, ect).

project finacing- very confusing, im too lazy to type it

advantages- inner city airport, eliminates sound pollution, accidents occur over water, doubles passenger capability to 16 million, could serve as eze alternative (always fogged in), better inviromental impact (= to removing 1,200 collectivos(buses) working around the clock from city streets), cheaper then rebuilding eze.

to pay for it there will be a 10 peso levy per ticket, total cost is about 440 million dollars, the fast link rail to eze from downtown alone will cost 600 million dollars.

thats all i want to write for now, ill try to scan the picture so you can see the blue prints. sounds interesting to me, also sounds seriouse, this project has been going on for years.
