Hey everyone! I was considering going down to FLL for a day trip in late July on Pan Am from SFB just so I could fly on my first 727. Roundtrip SFB-FLL-SFB in one day is $113 and that is more than worth it to me to get on a 727. My question was, what are the condition of these beauties and what should I expect on board a Pan Am 727 as far as service, comfort, noise level (the louder the better), etc, etc. Thanks!

The less you expect, the better your trip will be. Expect the very minimum in service from some pretty pissed-off F/A's.

Support Airliners.net - become a First Class Member!

If you want noise (the louder the better) then sit in the rear of the 727. Up front they are quiet (kind of like an MD80) but in the back near the engines you are in for a treat !

This sounds like an interesting idea.....I might do the same thing when I'm in the area in a few months (if the route is still available).

Ah, so it's like the real Pan Am service in its final years.  Smile Reminds me of the one time I flew on Tower Air in 1999. Was an ex-Pan Am 747 with the original interior still intact! Even the seatbelts had the Pan Am globe! The plane was completely beat (rips in seats, broken reading lamps) and the f/a's were rude and surly.

Hey, I thought Pan Am III completely shut down recently.

I do have to say when I worked the ramp at SFB last year, the ground handling/MX was anything but top notch. Service was said to be decent....whatever that means.

Not exactly - reemerged as "Clipper Connection" to operate under the Boston-Maine certificate.
