Emirates 777-300/ER In Montreal!

Today, Boeing brought an Emirates 777-300/ER demo aircraft to show AIR CANADA at Montreal. The aircraft will later be registered A6-EBD. It arrived at 16:45 on RWY 24R. Not sure when it is scheduled to depart YUL. It is currently parked between the Air Canada hangars. Photos are available here:

In case you have'nt kept up to date on the forums, AC has recently placed an order for the 773ER, 772LR and the 787.

With that information provided for the AC orders, they are getting the first 777-300ER as soon as next year and are scheduled to use it on its NRT-YVR run.

Flown on: DC-10-30, B747-200B, B747-300, B747-300SR, B747-400, B747-400D, B767-300, B777-200, B777-200ER, B777-300

They are also removing their Airbus Widebodies from their fleet ASAP.

So far, their order stands at:

2 x 777F
16 x 772LR/773ER
Options for another 18 777's

18 x 787 (including some 789's)
Options for another 40 787's

First 777 arrives in May 2006, with 3 arriving during 2006.

First 787 arrives in 2010.

No F-Class Suite, I'm afraid.

She departed nonstop to Paine Field/Everett, flying across Canada at FL360, using it's civil registration as its callsign.

Any guesses as to the capacity of this bird? 3 sections of Economy at 3-4-3 and 1 section of Business = a lot

427 from memory 42J and 385Y.

I actually thought EBD was a 3 class aircraft, seems not.

Thanks, was wondering what the heck that was when I first saw that early this morning!

(Also thanks for MEL for this thread and to Youri for the great pics of this imposing special visitor to YUL. Would've been cool to see out there, in today's sunny spring weather)

It'll be interesting to see what AC comes up with as an opening paint scheme for the plane (and yeah 3-3-3 economy seating would sure be nice but I wouldn't bet that's what those guys are actually going to put in)

Can't imagine AC livery redo just because of the new 777 and 787 order. But if they did.... something like LA would be heaven!

EK has listed YYZ and YUL as potential destinations, per various reports in the local communities.

the station manager who was originally hired for yyz has relocated to montreal and the job fair that took place here (yyz) hired no one. Etihad had been all set for yyz but was told that Emirates would be starting service here...Servisair and Handlex are currently negotiating with EK for YYZ.

You can look for higher res pics on airliners in a few days (exterior, cabin and flight deck)

As CXYYZ has already remarked, I hope AC is not considering a 3-4-3 seating arrangement in the Economy cabin on their 777's as EK has done. Most airlines have either 2-5-2 or 3-3-3 seating (Best!). I flew recently from BKK to HKG on TG and would have stood the whole way had I not had an empty seat beside me in the bank of 4 seats. I moved to the next row forward because the seating was claustrophobia inducing with a passenger on either side of me at my assigned seat. Horrible!

Will Emirates not install their new Business Class seats (today on A345) in their entire fleet? I thought all new aircrafts had the A345-seat.
