Lufthansa told me that Reuters basically misinterpreted an internal discussion paper talking about the fleet distribution on various routes, and concluded that LH was going to become a low-cost carrier. LH says it's rubbish and that it hasn't changed the business model and certainly isn't going to become the next German budget airline...

Well,not really. They still leave it to Germanwings. Some Journalist has picked up a PR message and got it completely wrong. LH doesn't have 737-800s. They think about deploying their fleet so that they get the most utilization out of each plane they have. That's all
They still will have a rate structure from L to C in the same plane, With online bookings on domestic and certain European services you can pick the pricing that suits your travel needs best, and if you have to go at a certain time, its will be full fare Y or C..
