with bombardier receiving subsidies to build the C series, and Embraer heating up about it, it looks like we have something else to freak out about.

What do you think about my government handing out to Bombardier?

this "B" for Bombardier must change. I was thinking Boeing with the thread title.  Silly.

BMB v. E? I don't think the Canada vs. Brazil pissfests will ever get that intense like A vs. B.

In less than a decade BMB and E will be part of A or B (don't know which), so don't lose any sleep over subsidies.

The only wild card are the Japanese, who are looking to jump-start their civil airliner business, and have talked with BMB & E, although some think this is a ploy to encourage B to establish a 737 replacement production line in Japan.

"The government has agreed to back a massive investment at the aerospace company Shorts in Belfast, a move which could create up to 1,700 jobs.
Shorts parent company, Bombardier, has been offered up to £180m in aid to help launch a new series of aircraft."
