Hi all,
yesterday I could spot at about 21.30 a LOT Embraer 170 in Star Alliance cs. probably inbound for Gibraltar. Does anyone have more infos (Reg, purpose of flight etc. as usually Gibraltar is only served by Monarch and BA.

Thanks,
Torben

Cool. Did it nightstop? Any pictures of it at GIB?

Why GIB? Is this a usual stop for Embraers on delivery?
It seems a strange choice - why not Lisbon/Casablanca/Malaga etc? Surely landing fees at GIB are higher than other airports in the vicinity?

We used to go quite frequently trough GIB, flying corporate jets to South America. The airport demands more of the crews, as there are "Talk Down Approaches" only and the airport has certain wind limits. On the other hand it is fun as well. The big advantages are fast turn around times and short distances, as everything is close. The landing fees are fair, there is only a PPR for insurance reasons as GIB is a RAF Base. I think they could do much more business there, if the Handling, provided by Blands (a GB Airways Company) would be more efficient and not the sloppy. They should learn to have the equipment ready, once an aircraft touches down and it would be one of the crews first choice.
