What is this flight? ANC is just a stop or a final destination?

I have seen this AF flight before in ANC...IIRC it's a all white 747 or ever a ATLAS or Southern Air bird. I can't recall who's metal it is, but it's just like the Qantas Cargo flights coming thru, its not real QF metal...

Really bummed to hear that this was the trade show weekend! I make a point to attend, didn't hear a single thing about it at the airport or even amongst others this year....Too late now... What a shame...

Yeah today was the last day.

Transnorther had their Super 3 on display, the one that was in todays ADN story about birding on Middleton Is.

http://www.adn.com/life/story/6493462p-6374018c.html

Everts had "Maid in Japan" on display, and the FAA had their restored flightcheck DC-3 on display.

We had a pretty good show with Aussies and Kiwis showing their wares, specificly Gippsland Aeronautics and Pacific Aerospace Corperation plugging their airplanes.

http://www.utilityaircraft.com/index.html
http://www.gippsaero.com

We also got to look at a new 208 competitior that is being developed called the Kodiak by Quest aircraft company.

http://www.questaircraft.com/

One thing that I got the chance to do is point out some design deficienties with the Gippsland and Quest airplanes in regards to their doors. Both aircraft are trying to get doors sized so that you can forklift a pallet in them, but then the doors are designed so that you can't get a forklift under them or to it.

For example of the Gipps airplanes the door needs to be about 6 inches further aft, which would get the leading edge of the door out from under the wing, which is going to get nailed on a fairly regular basis. One fellow I talked to who was not a member of the sales team but said he had been on the factory sold told me he thought they where making left side flaps at a rate of 4 to 1 compared to the right side.....tells you they are figuring on them getting banged up.

On the Kodiak designed the designed a very large opening that is hinged at the top so that you can't get a forklift town under it, even before the forks/tower are raised to lift the forks. That and they used gas tubes to hold the door up, which in cold weather will fail to function properly. But they said that the airplane was up here to get input from pilots, so I being a former ramp rat felt well placed to chime in.
