I sincerely doubt it. Doesn't appear that most other carriers are interested in that...they are having a hard enough time keeping their own heads above water. If the laws allowed for more foreign ownership, you'd see an overseas carrier swoop in.

Chance of this happening is slim to none. There are only two airlines in America right now that could afford to buy HP, Southwest and American. AA is certainly in no mood right now for buying and integrating a completely different operating system and network like HP and are focused on continuing to turn around their own airline. WN would never be allowed to buy HP for antitrust reasons, their networks overlap way too much and HP and WN are almost completely mismatched -- fleet, employees, network, culture, etc.
The long and short of it: no, there is virtually no chance that another airline would want (or be able to afford) HP now or anytime in the forseeable future.
