The expected range of 787-900 (257 seats in 3 class) is 9625nm, greater than that of 777-200LR which is 8865nm.I understand that 777-200LR can do LON-SYD non-stop but not SYD-LON.
Will the addition of 800nm to range make it possible for 787-900 to do SYD-LON non-stop. Anyone know? The circle mapper shows it is possible, but does not account for flying westward.

Quoting LAXDESI (Thread starter): The expected range of 787-900 (257 seats in 3 class) is 9625nm,
...does Boeing know about this? They seem under the impression that the aircraft's range is 8300nm
Anyways, the 772LR (the world's longest ranged commercial aircraft) has a maximum potential range of 9420nm, which is what would be required for LON-SYD.
Obviously, if the 77C cannot do the return, then the 787 cannot either.
