Does ANZ Base Pilots At LAX?

Does anyone know if Air New Zealand bases pilots in L.A. or are they all based in New Zealand and overnight in L.A.

Also, can you show proof of your info and if they do base pilots in LA, what are their trips like?

Thanks

Really?

I was of the understanding that the crews working LAX-LHR were based in London?

Come to think of it, you might be correct. Either LAX or LHR. TG992 can confirm which airport

It is my understanding that F/A are based in London and NZ, but all pilots are based in NZ.

Hey Seven3seven,

Your profile says you're an airline pilot. When did you have your last medical??

"you could only wish you could become a pilot."

I've never seen glorified truck/limo drivers so full of themselves before. Please don't act like it takes a certified genius to be a pilot.

According to the Careers section of airnz.co.nz, flight attendants for the LHR-LAX route are based in LHR. I assume that there is a pilot base at LHR as well.

I'm just so sick of people spouting off on here without any proof. Show your SOURCES people!!!!!!!!

I can tell you that NZ1 is our source here at Airliners.net. He is very knowledgeable and works for Air New Zealand and is reliable enough to quote directly as a source and far better than any stupid newspaper reporter. There are no crew based in LAX.

Also make sure you are nice and kind in the forums and don't chew people out when not necessary. People are eager to help you, but if treat others poorly, then you are unlikely to get any answers or respect from anyone.

According to the flight attendant career page at:

http://www.airnz.co.uk/aboutus/careers/flight_attendants.htm

...there is a flight attendant base at LHR and additionally, the flight attendants work only LHR - LAX/R according to the information. They do not continue on to AKL or elsewhere.

The pilot career page however, is not as conclusive:

http://www.airnz.co.uk/aboutus/careers/pilots.htm

...it does not suggest a base, and IS Air New Zealand's UK page. Why write about a F/A base, but not write about a pilot base if one did exist, especially considering it is a UK website? There are some suttle hints in the technical requirements & type of employment making one believe there is only 1 base for Air New Zealand pilots, and that would be AKL.

Side note: I checked the careers link in the "U.S." version and again it clearly identifies London as the only F/A base outside of New Zealand and no reference for any other base for pilots outside of New Zealand.

Have a read, it's quite interesting.
