PHOTO SCREENER

With all this talk about Airbus offering financial backing to HP/US, I was thinking back to the mid-90's, when ATA placed a large order for 737-800's and 757-200's. As part of the financing for that deal Boeing took on a large chunk of ATA stock, and I remember reading in the newspapers that Airbus was unhappy with this.

My point is two fold. One, I wonder what that stock is worth now, and two, what Airbus is proposing is nothing new, just big business.

Back in the day I believe Boeing actually owned part of United.

Didn't Airbus provide A300s/A310s and arrange very good financing terms to to Eastern and Pan Am back in the mid-80s?

Back in the day, Pratt, United and Boeing were all part of one company.

Not much ..  Silly

However, Boeing will probably walk out with new stock after ATA leaves Ch. 11. This will compensate for at least some of their loss ..
