Has anyone information about the civil avation scene in south America, especially for Chile, Paraguay and Argentina? I like to learn something about carriers operating there (okay, I know that Lan Chile, Aerolineas Argentinas exist), especially about the less known ones and their fleet status and what you people think about them. Any help would be great!

in argentina, LAPA is becoming big. they just got a few new 767s and 737-700's. It wouldnt surprise me to see LAPA as argentinas "main" airline

LAPA has only one B767-300ER.

To avoid searching through the forum for the specific topics...you are more than welcomed to e-mail me. I can help you out with argentina, airlines, fleets, destinations and in most cases website.

I'm also wondering about Paraguay. I think that with the service of the Brazilian & Argentine airlines, it is very hard for a local airline to have a market in such a small country (in population), with low purchasing power to travel.

As for Argentina, AR we all know, LAPA is growing but I wish it would improve a bit, Southern Winds I found very nice, Dinar I have never tried, but wish them well. Then other smaller regional carriers & charter airlines. How can they all survive when Argentina is in recession? I don't know.

About Chile, I do have a question? We know about LanChile & it's excellence, but besides them, I can't name you ONE other airline from Chile. Ladeco, only internal. National Airlines: are they still flying? Can someone else name other Chilean airlines, like a list? I would like that. Thanks.

My internet was not shut down, the internet has shut me down

Well regarding National in Chile, if I am not wrong they were bought by Avant. If you are interested, their website is www.avant.cl. They are members of OnePass & fly 8 737-200Adv to local destinations.
