Between 12 and 2 PM a whole bunch of european flights arrive...KL, BA, AF, VR. Together with KE and CX at the same time this will fill up the room in Terminal A quite a bit; Generally takes about an hour, although I was once lucky with a late arrival of KL from AMS, within 3 minutes I was through immigration!

I think that early afternoon would be the peak period. The last time I flew into SFO was on the BA flight that left LHR at 10.50 and arrived approx 13:45. We were still in the immigration queue when passengers from the later BA flight, which normally leaves LHR at 12:55, arrived.

Depends on which concourse. The "G" side (United and Star carriers, plus a few) is very busy between 8am-11am. The "A" side (most non-Star airlines) starts around 1230p-230p as AMSSFO said. The "A" side also get a evening bank with Phillippines,British (second flight), China Airlines, and a few Alaska flights arrive.
