Airtran continues to add to west cost flights from every where but Baltimore I dont understand. There is enough traffic out of BWI for both Southwest and Airtran. Like BWI-LAX BWI-LAS and BWI-SFO. I had also heard rumors that BWI airport officals asking FL to fly nonstop to SEA. Just wanted to see if anybody had some insight why FL does not expand out of BWI to west coast.

BWI is a notoriously low yield especially on transcons. In addition SWA whom as you know is a big player at BWI services both BWI-LAX and BWI-LAS nonstop allready.

Didn't WN try BWI-SEA sometime last year as a test market flight on
Saturdays only sometime last year? I wish BWI could convince FL to
start flying to SEA somehow. I would transfer to SEA in a heartbeat!

BWI-west coast service would require the 73G of which AirTran still only has a small number of. Once the 50-strong 73G fleet is in service, west coast nonstops from BWI are far more likely.

Panam, TWA, Ansett, Eastern.......AC next? Might be good for Canada.
