Hi guys, I was wondering if anyone could help me regarding PIA (PK) flights to and from MAN. I've tried to look on the PIA website, but it is not very clear!
I wanted to know the following:
1) How many flights (PER WEEK) which just do:
ISB-MAN-ISB
LHE-MAN-LHE
KHI-MAN-KHI
2)and how many per week on the following sectors:
ISB-MAN-JFK/IAH/YYZ
KHI-MAN-JFK/IAH/YYZ
LHE-MAN-JFK/IAH/YYZ
Is it the case that PIA have for instance, on one day a flight which does ISB-MAN-JFK and on that same day, another flight which just does ISB-MAN-ISB, i.e. double daily flights to MAN?
Sorry to be so complicated! Thanks.

Think i've already explained this once, but ill do it again:
-There is one flight every day there comes in from Pakistan that terminates at MAN and go straight back, 5 days a week it comes from ISB, the other 2 are from LHE. This is on the 743s.
-There are two weekly flights from KHI to MAN and onwards to YYZ, although im not sure if they stop in LHE on both sectors. This is operated by 772s.
-There is a similar service to ORD twice a week, on 772s, but this service is currently operating via BHX until the end of october.
-A weekly service from KHI and LHE to IAH on a 772.
-Upto 4 weekly services to JFK via MAN on either 74Ms or 772s.

the ORD flight was twice a week (flight 0794/0796), then switched to once a week (flight 0794), now its back to twice a week (actually as of 05/29/2005-12-31-2005-they will be reinstating their Tuesday service)...I don't know if its a "seasonal" thing or they are getting more pax, but according to their sight, it might be seasonal.
their 0796 flight used to be a one stop to KHI...via MAN..but now its back to a two stop route...
according to their website, its still out of MAN...not only that, my mother flies that route often from ORD, and its never been to BHX..
though their IFE isn't as good as others (ie. SQ, EK, etc), their business class is THE BEST value for the price
$2,300 round trip (including taxes/fees) from ORD-KHI on business class!!
That being said, their IAH-KHI is going to be bypassing Europe...straight to Pakistan... on the 777-200LR

This is what has been needed on Houston-middle east flights--most of the past routes (Royal Jordanian, Gulf Air) made such stops that it was often more convenient to change planes once via european carriers. Pakistan unfortunately still has lackluster marketing.

i couldn't agree with you more..in fact, I've even complained about it to PK..they said the are working on improving that part....including service to LAX...(now if they had some service to SFO..that would ROCK!!)
they also recommend going to their website and making comments/complaits so that they will know what people are thinking.

If PIA management had any financial common sense after examining the massive losses that IAH is bringing to the table...they will suspend flying there from September once the peak season ends to avoid further financial torture of the route.

Agree. Why doesn't PIA start DAILY nonstop flights from JFK to PAk and just bring in pax from the rest of the US to JFK. Right now they don't even fly daily from NY. I know NYC has the largest Pakistani community in the US, and I would imagine, NY-Pakistan has the most business traffic. IAH-Pak just seems like a route for families to go back and visit relatives (which I would think are low yielding pax who would tolerate the stop in NY).
This basically means that the 2 weekly MAN-ORD-MAN flights have full 5th freedom rights but only 2 out of 4 weekly MAN-JFK-MAN flights have 5th freedom rights.
This piece of information I have copied down from a PIA notice sent to the local YYZ agents and was in effect from June 5th 2004.
