747-600x, I was under the impression that you didn't like the DC-10, only the L1011.

Looks great! Today I was admiring Americans brand new 777s being towed at the Boeing delivery center. WOW! Nothing beats polished skin as long as you keep them polished. We were remembering the ugly old oxidized Northwest planes, especially the 747 freighter. Anybody know AAs exterior cleaning program?

Thats a keeper for me because an AA DC-10 is still the only wide body airliner I have ever been on. It was way back in 1988 and only a 25 minute hop from DFW to AUS. They were also using 767s on the same hop at the time.

I immensely dislike DC-10s and am quite fond of L-1011s, but so what? It's a pretty picture, and that dislike is kind of a sub-category of 'airliners' in general. I like airliners overall, and that's a pretty picture of an airliner.

Here's the site, there are a lot of nice pic.s there, most aren't as good as the typical Airliners.Net pic.: THERE ARE AWESOME 767-400 SHOTS!!!

Nice pictures. Especially that of the DC-10, that one's absolutely magnificient. It's really sad that the DC-10's will be gone end of this year. I don't know about you but I'll definitely miss her.

I love those silver polished fuselages, American has always had that on all of its aircrafts since it was founded in the early 1930's.

Doug, that's about the nicest MD-80 I've ever seen... though methinks that photo isn't entirely real 'cause of the balance and all.
I agree with the y'all about the silver fuselages... I hope American doesn't change their livery and if they do that they KEEP THE SILVER!

That's another reason I like L-1011s, though DC-10's windows are huge, L-1011s are still the biggest. Well, no need to start competitions, DC-10 cockpit's have great vistas! (I've been in 4 or 5 of 'em)
