AF Director for Latin America, based in Brazil, in an interview yesterday stated that AF is "deperetly seeking a Brazilian partner" to connect domestic pax onwards in GRU and GIG. This would also be important for a possible third daily AF/KL flight to GRU/GIG.
AF and JJ had a close cooperation in the past, however, JJ ended its codeshare with AF and has developed closer partnership with AA instead. There are indications that JJ is negotiating its entrance in OW.
Recently there were strong rumours that AF would sign a partnership with GOL (which is an "enhanced" LCC the type of US carrier Southwest, with onboard free snacks, etc). Part of the agreement between AF and GOL would pave the way for GOL to become a full member in SkyTeam. GOL has negotiated an agreement with Sabre and is in final negotiations to be included in Amadeus - sources say that this was a prerequisite asked by AF.
Because of its size, equivalent to continental US, foreign airlines need a partnership with Brazilian airlines to distribute pax and feed flights from/to GRU/GIG.

It would be. AF offices use Amadeus to book flights, and in order to book GOL, GOL would have to be at least a Sponsored Airline or a Participating Carrier.
