I just wanted to say that my favorite approach would have to be Athens airport to runway 33R i think. I go every year to visit my grandmother and I love the approach over Sounion and then past the harbor right into the airport. I am really going to miss Athens airport when the new airport opens in 2001. I love it when we start to descend. And the pilot has to make about 2 steep turns to enter downwind. Since I usually fly and Airbus A-320 or 321 into Athens I love the sound that the engines make as the are put into configuration for final approach. Then flaps full are usually selected over the water at about 2000'. Then turn to enter the runway heading and Sounion being at your right. As you pass the harbor you can see yaughts and ferry boats and the view is SPECTACULAR. Then as you touch down the CFM engines are put into reverse thrust and you have arrived at your final destination ATH. Spoilers are extended and the head flight attendent comes on the PA saying we have arrived in Athens and local time is 1:34 pm. "Please stay in your seats with your seat belts fastened until the captain has come to a complete stop in the paking terminal. From all of us on board your Paris based crew we hope you enjoyed your flight on Air France and we wish you a pleasant stay in Athens." Then some classical music come on  The as you deplane, you look at the plane that brought you to paradise the Air France A-320. You enter the bus that will take you to the marble stairs that will take you into the airport. Show your passport to the customs official and you are off to get your bags. Your journey is just starting in Greece   I am only 14 and have been going to Greece twice a year to visit family it is like a 2nd home to me. I love it very much.
