LOOKS like UA will fly the 747-400 a/c from SFO to DEN and back to SFO,EFFECTIVE WITH THERE JUN 7 SCHEDULE CHANGE, IF it holds true, people will have an opportunity to fly the jumbo bird domesticly in the USA, as we dont know what will happen to UA. UA770 DEPARTS SFO @ 1250P and arrives DEN @414P, DEPARTS back to SFO as UA595 @535P and arrives SFO @658P looks just for the summer season.

Yeah, there's a few 747s out there domestically. Just yesterday I was going to take ORD-SFO at 10:05 because it was a 747 and then take the 2pm back to ORD (also a 747). Just as we're about to close the door the captain said there was a maintainence issue and we'd be delayed. After sitting on the ground for an hour I decided just to get off because the connection time in SFO would be too short. I even had 15A - one of the best seats on the uppder deck. I just explained to the FA that I was doing a round trip (he looked at me like I was crazy) and he said that the door was open so it wouldn't be a problem to get off. Anyway, I hope that they will keep showing up on the schedule for the rest of the summer.

I Think(probably) this will be the only opportunity to fly this jumbo on a domestic USA, looks like since UA is really in trouble with leases, only makes sense to have 744 placed on international routes only, unless NW(ONLY OTHER USA CARRIER WITH 747), decides to add on domestic routes? BUT, NW probably is smart not to have domectic service with this aircraft as the international is more profitable for them. Nevertheless, its still great to have at least one carrier with this domestic service aircraft.

Quoting Jfrworld (Reply 7): UA currently flies 747s and 777s domestically between SFO and DEN/ORD. This is not new. I flew a 747 from SFO to DEN last Ocotober.
GOOD response, but if they currently do fly 747(only 747 is what am talking about) , its not a schedule aircraft as of yet, its probably a substitude aircraft, but on JUNE 7, you will(mostly ,unless a substitude aircraft is used) fly on the JUMBO. just want to let people know, its still out there on a schedule aircraft for domestic travel.
