I'm not usually one to start this thread, however, since I was on a flight that was diverted, I might as well mention it...US Airways flight 256 CLT-PBI, a 737-300, diverted to Tampa...anybody else know of any? I'm sure there were quite a few, after all, the hold times into PBI were so ridiculous that we ran out of fuel, and I'm sure FLL was even worse...

It's a big building with patients, but that's not important right now.

Whats the reason behind these diversions?
I checked about 5 websites of the airlines listed above and not a single one mentioned anything about weather. Weather.com Doppler-500 radar for PBI shows nothing in the viscinity of the airport...TPA and RSW appear fine too.
Flying a plane is no diff. from riding a bicycle. Its just a lot harder to put baseball cards in the spokes. -'Airplane'

It POURED at PBI earlier today, with severe thunderstorms and (as far as I could tell from above) dreadful visibility, including a blanket of cloudy skies.

Surprising because i looked at the FAA site for airport delays and all the Florida airports were listed with minimal delays.

REMARKS:
I'm not sure what you consider minimal but a ground stop for a period of 1 hour and 17 minutes is pretty lengthy. The reason no delay initiative was created for RSW is that they don't have enough volume to warrant one.
