2) OneWorld
3) SkyTeam

Great news for Star Alliance, but do you agree with the results?

I would put SkyTeam before OneWorld as well. The serivce that SkyTeam can offer in much better all the way around in my oppinion. Does SkyTrax give any reasoning for the results or how they came to them?

From a commercial standpoint, SkyTeam blows away both OneHeathroWorld and Dimming Stars Alliance by being the ONLY airline alliance with Transatlantic AND Transpacific anti-trust immunity - this allows the SkyTeam members to coordinate and co-market their services at a level the other alliances can only dream about.

I highly doubt that AF, KL, OK, AZ and DL, NW, CO have antitrust immunity over the Atlantic. There are some bilateral, maybe multilateral agreements, but by no means alliance wide antitrust immunity.

I've flown with airlines of all 3 alliances, and I can only confirm these results. Wouldn't have done it differently myself. Just wish it were not so expensive to buy miles with star alliance as opposed to one world. LOL Big grin

Whoa! Fact check time - NW/KL have antitrust, DL/AF have antitrust, but CO and AZ are not part of any current antitrust agreement, with either NW/KL or DL/AF. AF ownership of KL has not extended NW/KL antitrust to AF.

It's been swell, but the swelling has gone down.

The new members (save CO) are applying to join the SkyTeam ATI agreements.
