Just wondering wether theres going to be any increased traffic into EDI during the G8 summit on July 2nd, also wether security will be too tight to allow aircraft photography around the airfield, as theres going to possibly be some government aircraft arriving into EDI.
Anyone know of any plans for the day?, also Im guessing theres going to be a few charters for the planned "protest" in the city itself with 1 million asked to show up.

It's going to be chaos basically. It seems most the traffic is heading for PIK, or so the public is being led to believe, but it's really just a matter of seeing what happens closer to the time.

What about John Travolta and his personal 707 in QF V-Jet colours? Announcing Live 8 Bob Geldof said Travolta will be flying protesters to Scotland while Dame Ellen MacArthur will be leading a flotilla of boats. Will the 707 be allowed into EDI or will it have to be PIK?
On a side note I'd imagine George W Bush will arrive on Air Force One, so can EDI handle the 747, or will it be a case of flying into PIK and then using Marine One to get to Gleneagles?

This is the kind of thing we just don't know. Just now it's most likely to be PIK for AF1 apparently, but it could be EDI as orginally reported. I'm sure all 3 central belt airports will get their fair share anyway.
