Why Not Put The A.net Livery On An Airliner?

Recently, while looking at the A.net Virtual Airline thread, I've been wondering: Wouldn't it be extremely cool to have a real airliner flying around in A.net livery for a couple of months? Think about this, we are almost 15.000 people here on a.net. Couldn't we all rent the ad space on a Ryanair 737, if everybody put in some cash? How much can that possibly cost? If everybody gives a buck, plus Johan could maybe dedicate one week's ad income to this project, wouldn't you think there might be a chance to pull this off?

Tell me what you think of this!

I would support it wholeheartedly, but apart from the A.net livery, we should also include the screen names of all the people that contributed to the 'cause' Smile. I bet Ryanair wouldn't have problems with the load-factor on that plane either...
I repeat, great idea!

Remember that full-page ad for Firefox in various large netional newspapers, funded only by fans / users throwing in 5 bucks apiece? I did and so did my brothers, and in the end we all appeared in the NY Times!

Well then, can anybody dig up the data on exact ad cost on airplanes? How much did Ryanair charge for that Jaguar livery, how long did it run, and how much of the cost was one-time (for painting it) and how much was monthly?

Well, we could ask the same ad agency who designed the First Class logo. Didn't they do it for free because they're a.nuts too?

I spent quite a lot of time looking for that info, Birdwatching, but found nothing. Clearly, Ryanair isn't too fond of disclosing these things to the public. Maybe, if someone 'official' from A.net enquired about this, they would provide us with details.

On a separate note, L410Turbolet, I'm afraid Ryanair is one of the relatively few carriers that put advertisements on their planes. Sky Europe comes to mind as another one, but they are far too small and their routes relatively few...

Well, think about it, would we care WHICH exact airline would do it? We could make an offer ourselves, and wait until any airline around the world accepts it. We might be even cheaper that way. Heck, don't care if that plane flies somewhere in Ecuador, as long as we get many nice shots in the database!

OK, seriously, I'd be in with $50. What about you guys? In the end, the proper way to go would be opening a kind of trust fund that everybody would pay into. Maybe Johan could chip in some ad revenue in the end. After all, this plane would be generating some serious traffic to this site.

OK, let's add it up...

Grand Total: $50

Surely some airline will entertain the thought - plus this site will receive untold hits due to the publicity.

I was thinking Sky Europe or Germanwings. 4U and NE seems to be not too conservative (i.e. NE's Adriana OM-SEA or 4U's D-AKNO http://www.skyliner-aviation.de/photos/01d-akno.jpg ) and maybe they would be more open to this idea as such not just purely as the opportunity to make money out of it.
