Its about time. Air Canada has finally announced the it will be coming to YHM offering flights to YOW and YUL I wonder what Canjet feels about this. Going to be operated with CRJ this is cool. Now i could actually fly across the pond from YHM.

Hamilton-Montreal: Effective September 18, 2005, Air Canada Jazz will introduce four daily non-stop flights operated using 50-seat Canadair Regional Jet aircraft. Air Canada will thus offer the only non-stop flights between these cities and the opportunity for same-day return itineraries, as well as convenient connections at its Montreal hub. To promote the new route, Air Canada is offering a special introductory fare starting at $99 until July 2, 2005 for travel until October 31, 2005.

Hamilton-Ottawa: Effective September 18, 2005, Air Canada Jazz will introduce three daily non-stop flights operated using 50-seat Canadair Regional Jet aircraft. Air Canada will thus offer the most non-stop flights between these cities and the opportunity for same-day return itineraries. To promote the new route, Air Canada is offering a special introductory fare starting at $89 until July 2, 2005 for travel until October 31, 2005

Of course Canjet can compete with AC. Canjet will be able to offer more cheap seats than AC can, so they'll get the low end point to point stuff. Anyone who wants to connect, who collects Aeroplan miles, or who can afford to fly business class, or can get in on a seat sale, will fly AC.

The primary function of the design engineer is to make things difficult for the manufacturer and impossible for the AME.

What out C6! I'm sure JAzz will be giving C6 a harder time on this route now.

Wtv, good for YHM. Now YHM is connected to almost every major North American and European destination, with only one stop at YUL.

This is one very, very happy a.nutter. If you live to the west of the city, the convenience of flying through YHM is unbeatable. I have been hoping someone else would step in ever since WestJet's pullout.

Yeah this'll give C6 a bit of a kick in the pants. BUT, I think the publicity and word of mouth about AC's presence at YHM will generate a lot of its own market. They won't necessarily be goign after the same kind of pax as C6 as mentioned above. On the whole, as this raises the profile of the airport as a realistic alternative to YYZ (in a way that it couldn't have been with just WS there), it will eventually be good for ALL carriers.

A side question: Is it possible, now Canada's three biggest airlines are using it, that YHM might get in gear again and seriously look at a terminal expansion?

Next flight.... who knows.

YHM will never really be the reliever airport to Toronto until something major is done to the transportation system between the two cities. The QEW (main expressway) between the two cities is near useless after 6 AM going into Toronto until after 7 going out.

UPS moved one of their flights to YYZ because of the traffic. It was so bad they had to fly packages from YHM to YTZ! I used to drive from YHM to downtown Toronto at 5:30 AM and would be in stop and go traffic for part of it!

YHM will be good to capturing traffic from the west, but I do not think it will ever become the YYZ reliever some want.

I think a relever yes in someways because there are a heck of a lot of people who live closer to it then YYZ. Also saying ebcause of the traffic its not going to work might be a little silly because people have to drive there through traffic no matter where your going or coming from in T.O that city is a zoo. Also there is a lot of people in Burlinton Oakville St Cathrins/Niagara Brantford even the Kitchener Waterloo area. Its does also helps that the nighway is now build and once the Red Hill Expressway is doing(2 yrs) it will decrease drive time even more.

As far an terminal building I hope this helps with there plans. if you go to the YHM website it has some Plan other there(master Plans) its some pretty impressive stuff if they ever get to build it.

See how this is. its nice to see another 7 flights added as well Connecting in YUL to europe.

I think YHM can become a releiver to YYZ even with the QEW as it is. because right now people from Brantford Burlington St Cathrines Niagara Kitchener Waterloo all use YYZ but could use YHM without having to use the QEW therefore releiveing some from YYZ. I also know the need for the new ATB and they have some great plan for the future. If you go to the YHM web site and look under master plan you can see them there. Aswell With the New hwy 6 opened the access has greatly improved. I guess well see what the future holds.
