This summer there are 3 BA, 2 CX, 1 QF and 1 indirect Finnair flights from LHR-HKG. Is this the most dominant long haul route by any alliance in the world?

Actually CX has 3 daily flights bewteen HKG and LHR, and they're now bidding for a forth!

You can't count AY's flight as it flies to/from Helsinki. If you include them, then you've got to include all the other points that CX flies from in Europe too.

Yes... interestingly enough.. no other airline alliance has any flights between LHR and HKG. Not Star Alliance, Not SkyTeam. You have one other carrier on the route.. VIRGIN ATLANTIC though.

AA and BA operate a substantially larger amount of flights than that between LHR and JFK.

I won't count the Finnair flight, because it isn't nonstop, but LAX-NRT is a big route for *A with 4 daily flights by 4 *A carriers (5, when UA is feeling frisky).

CX is doing triple daily!

We are applying for a 4th daily flight between HKG and LHR with continuing service to JFK.

Finnair is now doing Helsinki-Hong Kong nonstop.

Eventually I think we will see:
1) CX: 4 times daily. 1 of the flights will go onto JFK
2) BA: Triple daily
3) QF: Single daily
4) VS: Double daily
5) NZ: Single daily (They are still applying for the rights. They already have the approval from the Hong Kong government but not the UK government)
6) KA: Single daily (They want HKG-LHR)
7) Oasis: Single daily
8) British Midland: Heard that they want to fly HKG-LHR. I suppose single daily

A very busy route I would say.

LHR-JFK is about 7 hours, more medium than long haul, LAX-NRT is an interesting route, cheers for that.

Current operaters between LHR and HKG:

1) CX: 3 times daily
2) BA: 3 times daily
3) VS: Single daily
4) QF: 4 times weekly

Wonder which airline is doing the best..... I suppose CX or BA?

I would still call JFK-LHR a longhaul route, and oneworld definitely dominates this market, with 13 of the 18 daily departures being either AA or BA.

At least three airlines from any alliance offering so many flights on such a long route, is what I would call dominance.

Do AC and UA compete on any route from HNL?
