Royal Aviation and Canada3000 have been given permission to expand their service from Canada to Europe. Royal will fly from Calgary, Winnipeg, Edmonton, Montreal and Toronto to Birmingham, Bristol, London and Glasgow in the UK. Canada3000 will fly from Toronto, Montreal and Moncton to Paris, France.

Interesting, but does anyone know if Royal will be adding any more aircraft to its fleet? Will they be using 757's across the atlantic again, or will they add more A310's for these extra flights?

No ROYAL will not be using the 757's accross the atlantic for the summer sched. They may be geting another A310 but it will be a -200 not a -300 and will only be used to replace A/C which are down for their checks and service. This plane will also be used for ROYAL's other contracts like when the 310's were used to assist Cathay Pacific during the pilots strike.

I think they should ad flights from oher cities like a like a week to London Paris and maybe frankFort from YHM I know they dont have Jetways but the Nicer weather is here and I dont know what the Big deal is anyway with in 20minuts your going to be outside anyways and I think by this winter we will see at least 1 jetway at YHM with the way Westjet is exopanding out here starting in june they are going to add Ottawa and there will be a period inbetween 10:00 and 11:00 when there will be 3 WJ 737s a US Air Express and a Continental Express at the terminal if I was to go there at that time in let say January or fubruary There would have only been the USair so I think the Administration at YHM is going to have to do something aobut this.

Airliners_rule, it will take time to develop charter routes into YHM. I definitely think YHM can look to develop charter routes in the next few years, but it's not something the airport administration has much say into. Reality is that although some airport administrations like to take credit for expansions, it's still really the airlines choice. I think what YHM needs is to have a year or two or even maybe a little more of proving that it supports local air service in the long run, and then I think charters will start looking at it knowing YHM won't fall off the map like it did the last few times airlines have tried and failed there. Also, I think most likely the charters would start with either domestic service (like Canada3000 is doing with Abbotsford) or to sunspot destinations in order to feel out the market rather than going to Europe, at least to start with.

YWG777, I don't think Royal will fly all the routes connecting the UK cities to Canadian cities. More than likely each city will get one or two routes, probably only weekly frequency (hey, this is a charter we're talking about). That's still very good news, though.

Well Royal has a full schedule right now as we speak. First of all they are adding 9 flights between YWG-YYZ weekly. that's a increase of 4 flights. Second they are adding another YVR flight as well. I don't know about YYJ though. I think Canada 300 is doing that again. Royal is going to do those cities or all the flights from YYZ will connect those cities execpt the London Stasted and Gatwick routes. Any comments?
