Has anyone here tried the recently opened lounge?
It looks vere nice to me, although I actually didn't see it from the inside.
I think KLM finally has a lounge now that's up to par with the other major
european carriers, finally.

The lounge is awful, its too small and has no business point or smoking section (referring to their new Temporary lounge in Schengen, the only one in this area!). KLM has absolutely no idea what premium service is, though curiously they do know what premium prices are!

I work around there and I saw it from the outside a few times when it was not quite finished. Looked nice, very light with glass walls on 2 sides, very big too. Before they finished it they put semi-transparent curtains up, so haven't really looked closely at the finished product...

QM001. As you said that was the Temporary lounge. Wich has now been replaced by the newly-rebuilt lounge.

AMS is one of the worl'd best airports, cant KL at least offer a decent biz lounge? I'll use the lounge on Friday when I fly to AUH, I'm curious to check it out. The official opening was last Thursday.

The least we could expect from KL and an aiport with such high standards as AMS was a decent biz lounge...I really had high expectations for the new lounge....

Correct.

Whether the lounge is good or not, it's the coffee they serve there that draws me to it. Great stuff! Especially after coming in early from DTW or SIN and going on to somewhere else. Makes the start of a day.

The new Crown Lounge Schengen, number 25, has reopened last week. The temporary lounge has now closed.

It's very spacious, modern and has all comforts. I've been inside to admire it and IMHO it is up and above standard. Best lounge at this airport.

Open for Business Class passengers and SkyTeam Elite Plus cardholders.

I totally agree with you. Those Douwe Egberts cappuccinos are fantastic. It has kept me going no matter how long my transit time has been and believe me when I tell you, I had done 9 hours transits in that lounge! I don't know where I would be without that coffe machine!  Wink

You better visit Amsterdam next time. only a 15 min ride by train.

I unfortunately hold citizenship of a country that requires a visa for entry into Holland. I attempted it once but ended up on the first DTW flight (8am). I however have been to AMS before, when I lived in FRA and I can't wait to visit AMS again, preferably for more than a few hours.  Wink

You haven't heard the best part: for KL personnel they're 1 euro only! They're my fuel!

I hope the lounge is a vast improvement from the previous ones. Have tried them all at AMS and frankly have been v disappointed indeed - so its about time they were upgraded.

Don't know about the coffee but the nachos and snacks really NEED improving - the food offered by KLM at their Crown Lounges wouldn't keep a mouse alive.

As I have told you before, just go ask the Marrechaussee nicely (preferably not the guys at the D-checkpoint) and they will usually grant you a transit pass on the spot that allows you to go into town for a few hours.

The new lounge is a major improvement and it looks very nice. It looks similar to the AF lounge in terminal 2E at CDG(furniture). Coincidence?

Just used it on Friday (on my way to the AUH) and indeed it "looks" very nice, and it was a major improvement. Reading material is also excellent. But it stops there: the food is the same and very uninspired. Although there is a vast assortment of alcoholic drinks (i dont drink alcohol while on business) the food is poor: nachos, chips, biscuits, pork sausage, soup (choice of 2), soft drinks, apple and orange juices, coffee...what else?...nothing...Not even a fruit basket. KL should at least try to make available a healthy option. My suggestion: a nice fruit basket + healthy sandwiches!

Lamedianaranja: tks for saying hello!  Wink

Have you ever been to a public place in the Netherlands with proper food??

But you're right...a fruit basket shouldn't be that difficult to offer to the passengers.
