the new Dutch Airline Magic blue would eventually start with 2 757's (ex dutchbird) and 1 A300, but now after a litle bit of search i was stunned when i saw they were going to lease 4 ATP"s!!!

here is the first photo:

http://www.jetphotos.net/viewphoto.php?id=485425

they will begin flying on AMS-CDG wich is currently only being flown by AF KL

Magic blue is, compared with other dutch start-ups (like dutchbird , Vbird) better organized and has a good amount of money.....

Great pics! I really like the livery on the ATPs. The tail is very recognizable.

AMS-CDG? There's a flight almost every 30 minutes by either KL or AF! So I guess they'll really need that money as the only way they'll get into that market is by really really sharp fares.

Given that AF and KL charge about £330/$600 for a day return, Magic Blue's fares wouldn't have to be that sharp to provide some effective competition  Big grin

15 flights a day, so its hardly 1 flight in 1 hour and 20 minutes.... only London (LCY, LHR, LTN, STN) has more than 1 flight an half an hour since its the most busiest route in the world

well the most passengers on that flight are people from AMS or CDG that need to go to the Other airport for a long haul flight that isn't been served at AMS or CDG, so a lot of people actually don't pay for that flight...

by the way, i travelled the route a lot times lately, both on AF and KL, and i have to tell ya, AF flights do hardly have any passengers ,although the KL flights are full.....

so don't think Magic Blue will be to profitable on that route...

And I'm sure it'll be less profitable when Thalys will be at full speed between the two cities!

Flying is amazing!

This ATP looks like one of the BA CitiExpress fleet. Is this where all four have come from?

I think this airline might struggle if they are using ATPs and KL/AF are using jet equipment, esp. as there will be a lot of interlining traffic through KL/AF alliances.

There is no way in the universe the Thalys is going to do Amsterdam-Paris in an hour and a half (typical turboprop flying time)!

I'm sure magic-blue is going to do very well. They will provide an excellent competiton to AF/KLM and will take business away from Thalys as well.

Never argue with idiots. They will bring you down to their level, and beat you with experience.

I thought that this airline was going to operate those ATPs as freighters on behalf of Fedex to CDG.

That livery looks really cheap. The tail looks weathered and faded already. Why are there so many LCC's now? Why can't we go back to days of legacy carriers with classy liveries.

DIJKKIJK, you’re making no sense...

Please compare:

THALYS:

Dep. AMS CS 12:56
Arr. Paris Gare du Nord 17:05
Travel time = 4h 9 minutes

Magic Bleu

Dep. AMS CS 12:56
Arr SPL 13:11
Walk to C/I desk
Arr C/I desk 13:20 + wait
C/I 13:30
Departure flight 14:30
Arr CDG 15:45
Arr customs 16:00
Arr luggage belt 16:10
Wait for luggage
Arr taxi stand 16:30
Dep with taxi 16:35
Arr downtown Paris 17:25 ( if no traffic-jam)
Travel time = 4h 29 minutes

And BTW: NO WAY this airline will survive : KLM/AF will lower fares in no time... and the ATP is not really a LCC type of a/c

Well good luck to them, and they're gonna need it to compete with KL/AF. The livery is REALLY cheap looking BTW.....

Try not to be jealous, we can't all be Czech.

Here's some information I got from http://www.luchtzak.be/postt9794.html

Magic Blue is the new name for Farnair Europe, this airline only flew cargo before but wants to fly passengers now as well

Flybe Engineering is doing the conversion to freighter at Exeter (so no pax!)
Here is a picture taken by Mike Lee of ATP G-BTPL in Magic Blue colours:
http://home.freeuk.net/redmike/gbtpl_1.jpg

The four ATPs are:
G-BTPL will become PH-MJK & G-BUKJ will be PH-MJL
G-BUKJ (ex Air Europa Express) (This one seems to be damaged by hail in Spain; will take some time to repair)
(and accoring to link provided by thread starter: G-MANP will become PH-MJP)

The plan to start flying at 4th of July. They plan to fly charter flights (B757) to the following destinations:

CFU (corfu)
LGW - no charter
AYT (antalya)
FAO (faro)
DLM (dalaman)
RHO (rhodos)
KGS (KOS)
BJV (bodrum)
ADB (izmir)
PMI Palma de Mallorca
GRO (girona)

Hope they will survive;
