Is there any reliable way of getting on a 737-900 LHR-AMS this summer? Do they have specific rotations on that route? (I'm thinking on a Friday, end of July specifically)

On a typical day KL1002 STD 0840, KL1018 STD 1450 and KL1028 STD 2025 are B737-900. Of course an equipment change is very common. Good luck!

The KL1009 has a 767 scheduled.

Does anybody knows what is scheduled on the KL1024?

Only KL 1007/1008 is usually a B767. As I said, a/c changes are frequent. Like, tomorrow KL1009/1010 will also be a B767.

KL1023/1024 is a B737-400:

KL 1024 FRI 17JUN TYPE 738
ARR DEP CLASSES
LHR 1815 C M
AMS 2030

Gosh I seem to be wrongtyping a lot these days. Sorry for all that. Of course I mean KL1023/1024 is a B737-800, as you can see in the Schedule Information copied from Corda.

Hi!

I really understand your point, I feel the same regarding the flights to LIS, they normally fly either the 800 or the 900. Last May I was ready to fly back to LIS and I was expecting that MAYBE KLM would fly a 900 to LIS. I was waiting at my gate and suddenly I saw a 900 parking by what looked like would be my gate but..... unfortunetely it was a different gate ( that 900 series eventually flew to BCN.... ) and I got another 800 all way to LIS!
Regards

Like is it any different to fly a 900 rather than an 800? Or is it for the type?

CV990, i can tell you, it's better to have a -800 all way than a -900 half way

KL schedules listed in CORDA show EQV (ie. Equipment Varies) on all KL AMS-LHR flights, which seems to indicate that there is no guarantee on what aircraft will operate the service.

The only nice thing about the -900 is that you've at least still got the 2x3 business class instead of "Europe Select."

Sadly, KL1000 (which I've taken 6 times this year) is always a non-900 when I'm on it. And usually packed in "Select"

Not everywhere in CORDA! General Schedule Info (SI) shows EQV, but schedule info for a specific flight on a specific day (S/KL.../DAT) will show you the type of aircraft, see my reply 4, where I copied straight from CORDA. Don't take notice of the typing error pls.

No matter what CORDA or Generel Schedule Info says, KLM changes aircraft types throughout the day, especially with narrowbody aircraft like B737 series and Fokker 50/70/100. Even up to an hour before departure and sometimes at posted boarding times!

So don't be surprised when you see a different kind of a/c as expected or mentioned in the reservations systems.

have always seemed to end up on a 737 Classic despite many pre-planned trips to catch the 737NG. Once came back on the 767 but that was just the once - rest have always been knackered old 737 Classics with tatty seats.

I flew KL1010 last Wednesday and it was, as scheduled (for my flight on my day, at least), a 763. I believe this particular flights is generally flown by 737s.

I will be leaving from AMS on the 1330 flight to LHR. This is scheduled to be a 739.

I must say that my first M11 flight, aboard PH-KCC routing AMS-CAI, went faultlessly. What a superb beast!

I will believe it when I see it.  Wink Besides, it makes no real difference: flying is merely another form of transport, regardless of the equipment used. That's my justification and I'm sticking to it.  Silly

Well, I've taken it just once and it was a -900. (But that was in February 2002 so I'm not sure how helpful that is...   )

Yeah right - considering you specifically booked that flight to fly on a 739. Liar Big grin

Done the -100??! Good for you if you have! Personally, I'm just missing the -600. But I've just applied for a job in Sweden so that might soon take care of that! (But where will I get a -100?  Sad )
