Flights have consistently been full since TG started this route in May. TG has been heavily promoting with special fares throughout the region. For example they are undercutting fares from Singapore by as much as US$600 compared with the direct SQ route in coach, and as much as US$2000 in Business Class.

Will these flights stay full, will there ever be a chance for a second flight maybe 3x weekly?

When are TG going 7x weekly to JFK?

Great news for TG!

Sad, but true, Singapore Airlines, it the only Asian airline not to offer nonstop service to Asia from JFK. They operate nonstop out of Newark. The "other" New York airport.

Sorry, I don't understand what you mean?  Confused

I know SQ operates SIN-EWR-SIN and TG operates BKK-JFK-BKK!

As early as 29Oct05, when their Winter schedule resumes.

Loading is pretty good all the way up to late Sept for now. Although they want to have more C & Y seats filled up. The B seats are selling pretty good.

Cheers

SQ still does or at least still used to operate AMS-EWR. My friend flew them in June of 2003.

The flight was discontinued in favor of nonstop service to Singapore.

I thought SQ flew EWR-FRA, not AMS? Or am I confusing MH and SQ?

SQ flies to FRA from JFK not EWR. They flew EWR-AMS-SIN before the EWR-SIN non-stop. Currently MH flies EWR-ARN-KUL, but they used to fly EWR-DXB-KUL.

Business travellers prefer EWR to JFK. SQ has done the right thing.

It's easier to get to, fewer terminals, less delays and altogether a more pleasant experience. Plus, the international arrivals area at EWR is fantastic. I've gone from the plane to my cab after a 20 hour flight in less than 20 minutes.

Uh oh, Jaysit, I think you've just opened a can of worms here by claiming that EWR is better than JFK in Kahala's presence...there was a pretty heated discussion about EWR vs. JFK a while ago, and Kahala had strong words about EWR's inferiority to JFK.

"less delays . . ."

forget opinion. thats a bullshit statement.

know facts, then talk. JFK is the most on-time NY airport by far. lots of excess capacity

maybe 10yrs ago....EWR is more crowded now especially w/all CO's Intl service in only 3 terminals compared to 9...plus the IAT redevelopment JFK's IAT is a very pleasant change from the old IAB...
