I finally got to leave Indiana this weekend, this time for a wedding in Connecticut. On Thursday morning, after my CFI class here at Purdue, my parents and I headed up to Chicago for our flight to New York's La Guardia Airport. We arrived in time for the 1300 flight, but had to take care of some business at the ticket counter, so we didn't actually get out until 1400. The flight we were on, operated by a Super 80, was totally full. My parents, my niece, and I were given four middle seats spread throughout the cabin, so we didn't get to be together. This flight was nothing special... it was 1:46, and it was in between meals, so all we were served was Coke and pretzels. After I finished my Coke, I went back to see my dad, and the passenger in the aisle next to him offered to trade seats with me, so I moved back to that row. After a cloudy approach, which restricted visibility on the very scenic approach around the southern tip of Manhattan, we touched down and arrived at the gate right on time.

After a great weekend in New York and Connecticut, it was time for me to return to Purdue for finals (they start tommorrow). My parents had left the night before to return to San Diego, and the rest of my family are staying until Monday morning, so I was on my own. I took a cab to LGA and arrived at about 5:15 am. After checking in for the 6:30 flight to Chicago, I walked through the terminal as I waited to be called up for a boarding pass. There were only 3 seats left in First Class, so I didn't think I'd get one, but I did. Upon boarding teh 757, I had a few glasses of orange juice, then we pushed back abut 5 minutes late, but we taxied right out to the runway. We took off and climbed out to the northeast, getting a great view of the city. Shortly after takeoff, the flight attendent came around to take our orders foir breakfast. Given the choice between Crispix cereal and fruit or an oelet with canadian bacon, I chose the latter. It was delicious, and served with bagels and doughnuts, as well as breakfast potatoes. After breakfast, the flight attendants continued to provide friendly, attentive service, filling my Coke many times before our arrival in Chicago. We landed just a few minutes late and taxied in to the gate.

Gotta go, but I'll finish up later.

Sounds like a good flight! I'm jealous, you got to go to NY!

How was the wedding?
