Rumor on the Yahoo! Orders eweb site is that Air Europa is going to order an additional 30 737NGs. Anyone can confirm that?

Didn't they order 10 737s earlier this year? Sounds like this is a large add on.

Wow, 30 is a lot. Any idea how many of these will be used to replace current planes?

It's 18 firm + 12 options. Which is very good. The CEO re-iterated earlier this year that Boeing would be their preferred supplier for narrowbodies and seems he is true to his word. Paris is cooking up a storm and it's only day 3!

With the airshow scaling back to a single week, devoting the last three days to the public, do we really have four days left for announcements or one day? Just curious.

Glad to see they are really expanding and giving IB a run for their money. Also glad to see them going Boeing with the narrowbody fleet. Wish they would have kept some 757's though  Sad

PARIS, June 15, 2005 -- Boeing today confirmed it has reached an agreement with Air Europa for the purchase of up to 30 Boeing Next-Generation 737 airplanes. Air Europa will place 18 firm orders plus options on an additional 12, all of them for 737-800 models

The 3 you mention were ordered earlier this year. Once this deal is formalised there should be a total of 21 listed firm for Air Europa on Boeings order site.
