Paris: One/Two More Airbus Announcements Tomorrow

Airbus is promising one but hoping for two announcements tomorrow:

- One from a European customer which will “probably be announced tomorrow”
- One for 40 single aisle aircraft which will be signed tomorrow possibly without being named (that will be done before the end of the month)

Could be an IB order for 350s. Or, who knows, another 380 order?

Wow, that would push Airbus over 300 orders and commitments for Paris alone. Not bad for a manufacturer that was "desperate" and "in demise" a couple of weeks ago.

Hasn´t LH ordered some more A340-600 or was that last year? Or maybe just options into firm orders?

I can't think of anyone else for the European widebody order; possibly TAP. I know Aer Lingus isn't ready to order.

LOT or Iberia seems most likely to me.

IIRC LH ordered 7 A346. Not sure whether they were option conversions but they were new orders. Perhaps Scorpio could clarify for us.

The last A340-600 order is from 23rd January, 10 for Virgin. Don't know about the LH order,but it wasn't this year... Maybe a lease?

BTW in the new Flug Revue (German Aviation magazine) is a design proposal for the upper deck of a possible A380 private jet interior.

It will forever be a McDonnell Douglas MD 80 , Boeing MD 80 sounds so wrong

No, yesterday they said: One European order AND an order for 40+ single aisle planes... The 18+12 A319 is the European order, I assume the 40+ order is from an Asian carrier that has not finalized the deal yet.

Speaking of pending Airbus orders, does anybody know if MX's order of 2 A332's has been made official? Or is it perhaps part of an order made by a leasing company?

Coming soon: MEX-MFE (VW CR2), IAH-PHL-CDG (US E90 and A333), ORY-EWR (OpenSkies 752), EWR-MEX (UA 73W)!!!

Thanks KL911 I should have been clearer as I was referring solely to LH. The order was booked late last year for 7 firm, not sure how LH is financing them though they are new frames. I'm just going from memory sorry.
