Where Did The IndiGo Order Come From?

It seems that before any order announcement, this forum is full of speculative posts about which aircraft each airline is going to order.

We knew A and B where fighting for Air Canada, Northwest, Air India, Qatar plus others.

We know A and B are still fighting for Malaysian, Emirates, LOT, Qantas plus others.

But I don't recall seeing a single comment about a startup airline in India thinking about ordering 100 aircraft.

How did this sneak below the radar of so many usually well informed a-netters?

There's your reason - the vast majority of a.netters are not well informed.

There are a few here who do know what they're talking about, but most of it is hot air, speculation and rumours started by their sister's boyfriend's uncle's gardener, who has a brother that cleans the office at NW, and he overheard two pilots talking by the coffee machine, and they said NW was going to order 250 A380s to replace their DC-9s.
