Is CO planning on adding winglets to their 753 fleet? I wasn't sure if there was even such an option as yet for the stretched version. Anybody know?

I have heard no tell. I certainly don't believe that the option has been certificated, yet.

The 753 wing may not be strong enough to carry both the plane and the winglet without strengthening.

I've heard it will not happen. The 753 I dont' think can be certified with winglets, or something like that. But what I've heard is that it will not happen.

There was an exhaustive topic on this--but the answer is no. At least not in the near term. The 752s, 738s, and 73Gs are the only Continental birds that you will see with winglets; and at present the entire fleet of those aircraft will not be receiving them. They may out fit the entire 738/73G and 752 fleet with them down the line though. The 753 and 739 are for high volume/low yield domestic/Mexico/Carribbean/Latin American routes--so no winglets.
