With the delivery of its new flight set for this week (Thursday), Ethiopian will operate a one-time SEA-IAD-FCO-ADD on Thursday the 23rd, leaving SEA at 1030. The DOT approval just came out today. So anyone in SEA, grab your cameras, and snap snap snap.

Ethiopian did this once before. Do they actually get enough people boarding at SEA to make this worth it?

There were specials running in SEA, and I know of a few free tickets that were handed out. More of a PR thing as well, since SEA has a sizeable Ethiopian community. They are to fly the aircraft to IAD first anyway, so why not get a little of something out of it...

Well it still hasn't had a flight plan filed, although I hear it has been on the ground in SEA since last night.

I was at SEA yesterday and saw this plane depart. It was a 763 and it looked terrific in its new livery. Didn't remember to bring my camera though.  hissyfit

DL did the ground handling, they even flew out someone from ATL to supervise the whole thing. After departure I got to meet the ET executive who took delivery of the A/C. Hmmm... Could this be a regular routing given the large Ethiopian community in Seattle?

Sup Ctbarnes,
They have picked up pax from SEA once before, from what I can remember, during the delivery of the previous 763 (I think it was ET-ALJ). DL also handled that aircraft at SEA.
