In a thread about a 4th NYC area airport, one of the participants pointed us to a very interesting set of slides:
http://www.faa.gov/programs/oep/v7/schedule/OEP%2010-year%20schedule_files/frame.htm
One of the slides features a "redesign of the NJ/NY/PHL airspace" project.
Anybody want to speculate on exactly how the airspace, specifically in the NYC area, will be redesigned?
It seems to me that just from a real estate perspective, things run pretty tight at the moment regarding approach and departure routes for EWR, JFK and LGA.
Just how could a redesign be done to make things run more efficiently (and presumably, eliminate the need for ground stops)?
