Hi everyone, just joined Airliners.net and wanted to say hello to everyone.

Now to the topic: Are there any pictures of a 2nd, 3rd... A388? Looking into the fact that we are over a year (May 2004) since the first A388 pic came out and 2 months after the first flight, just wondering if there are any pictures of the 2nd or 3rd A388.

The Airbus website has in this regard not been updated for quite a while.

Note: Watch me post another topic on the 787. YES a Boeing, as I do not differentiate between Airbus nor Boeing. I believe that all aircraft made by these two giants are a marvel of technology.

Thanks a million.

The only picture I have seen was the tail fin arriving at TLS painted in SQ colours as indeed the 2nd aircraft to fly is rumoured to be in Singapore Airlines livery. Alas no pictures have surfaced yet, which is surprising as usually those guys from French Frogs are quick on the uptake. There are some A.net members who work for Airbus at TLS who could I'm sure bring us up to date with the development of the 2nd and third aircraft.

Yes but it is a test aircraft also - I believe they will fit an SQ Vertical Stabiliser to this aircraft but I am not entirely sure as to the complete livery.

Keep in mind those photos also show the aircraft doesn't have two engines... they are quite old photos. I think (and not certain) that the plane is going to be structurally different to F-WWOW in that it will be the light model and as such is taking a fair amount of time to be prepared.

As my younger sister pointed out whilst watching the A380 documentary a few days ago, it looks like a clown in the shot with the big red nose.

I can't wait until we have two A380's in the air, it's just so exciting.

Thanks guys. If I recall correctly, there was a post some time back that the first full livery will be of Emirates Airlines and will as such arrive for DXB2005. Some sort of a 'Thank you' from Airbus for the large order.

Can't wait for it to arrive. Taking a week off from work to be there.

BTW - DXB Airshow 2009 will be held at the Jebel Ali International Airport. That place is MASSIVE!!! 6 runways side-by-side...

The first SQ painted fin was destined for the first A380 being built for SQ F-WWSA MSN003. The second proptotype might have SQ colors initialy but will be delivered to Etihad of AbuDhabi. As can be seen in the pictures the second prototype already has a white fin on.

My friend got a tour of the A380 production line this last weekend and said he saw a couple of half-built A380s with the Airbus house coloured tails, but no sign of ANY airline scheme on any of the A380 at various production stages.

Impressive. I would kill for a tour of the Airbus factory, to see A380s in person. I'm interested in seeing the first paint scheme as well.

I found this picture on the SQ website. I dunno if it's what you're looking for but i thought i'd put it on anyway!!

www.singaporeair.com/saa/app/saa?dyn...istings/PressRelease_20050425.html

Oh and by the way...i'm not sure if the link works. I've copied the URL but when i click on it it doesn't work. If not, go to http://www.singaporeair.com/saa/app/saa and search (at the bottom) for "A380" and it is the release called THE FIRST SINGAPORE AIRLINES A380 which is at the bottom!!

Yeah. How much are in the production right now? I heard they can build up to 6 simultaneously.

Concerning the SQ, here's the pic

So why the picture on my post above? Was it only for the picture they showed the tailfin?

first A380 being built for SQ F-WWSA MSN003

Conclusion: The one on the picture is not the second but the third.
Still strange that someone who visited the A380 production facilities did not see a SQ tail.

Guys look at the date those pictures were taken, the first set were December 04, so not surprising she's about to fly. Similarly, that SQ fin is well and truly fitted by now and I don't see it purely for a photo shoot, that aircraft is hidden somewhere and I bet in Full SQ livery to wet the customers appetite.
Can't wait to see her !
